Attorney Bio
Joseph Stockman grew up in Houston Texas. He graduated from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory and attended undergraduate school at the University of Houston on scholarship, where he obtained a dual degree in Political Science and Economics.
Upon graduating college, he worked for the Houston Astros baseball team and began graduate school studies in Economics and Law. While in Law School, he earned a Dean's Scholarship and was a successful debater.
After graduating from law school, Joseph moved to Chicago to start a family with his wife, Jessica, in the Western Suburbs. He ultimately worked at one of the most successful defense firms in the Chicagoland area for nearly fifteen years. He successfully represented numerous Fortune 500 corporations and earned notice as one of the Leading Emerging Lawyers in Chicago, an honor that only 2% of attorneys receive annually.
After successfully representing defendants, Joseph decided he wanted to represent actual people and not corporations. Mr. Stockman now represents injured people at Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol LLC. The majority of Mr. Stockman's practice is representing people injured in motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, contract disputes, wrongful death accidents, and construction cases.
Mr. Stockman has been one of the most prodigious trial attorneys in the greater Chicagoland area, with strong positive verdicts in Will County, DuPage County, Kendall County, Kane County, Winnebago County, Ottawa County, Boone County and others. In addition, he practices in the Federal Court.
Further, he has successfully arbitrated hundreds of cases over the last fifteen years and mediated to conclusion hundreds more. Mr. Stockman is known for his common-sense approach to practicing law and believes that a good lawyer understands that the law is for ordinary people, and that a successful lawyer knows that people and their stories matter.
